The village of Akrotiri in Santorini is built amphitheatrically on the southeastern side of the island. It was originally a Minoan settlement; today, it is home to one of the major tourist attractions and the most important archeological site of Santorini.

Vlychada is an easily accessible beach by car or bus, located on the south coast of Santorini, 13 kilometers from Fira. It is a lengthy beach with relatively shallow waters and dark volcanic sand and pebbles.
